Most slot machines have three spinning wheels with 22 positions
per wheel marked with symbols. Each time a spin is made, the
three wheels come to rest randomly with a selection of symbols
showing in the game window. Certain combinations of symbols in
the game window result in payoffs. The payoffs for the different
winning combinations are shown in a window at the top of each
slot machine.
Online Slot Machines operate like slots machines found
in the casinos throughout the world. The only difference is that
you can switch your coin value from $0.25 to $5 without changing
to another machine.
How to Play
These are general rules that apply to most, if not all, online
slot machines. Individual games may differ slightly.
To begin playing slots, you must deposit money into
the machine. Then, you may select which coin denomination you
wish to play: $0.25, $1, $5 or $25, depending on the game.
Once you have deposited money into the slot machine
and chosen a coin denomination, you may then click on the "Bet
One" button, up to a maximum of three times which corresponds
to the maximum bet of 3 coins. If you would like to play with
the maximum amount of coins (3) per spin, you may alternatively
choose to simply click the "Bet Max" button. You may
then start the wheels spinning by clicking on the "Spin"
button. When the wheels stop, your payoff will be determined
from a table of winning combinations shown on the top of each
machine. Any credits you win will be added to your total credits
in the machine and displayed in the "Paid" field. To
turn your machine credits back into regular chips, click on the
"Cash Out" button.
Note: You can only change slot machines when your
hand is finished, i.e. when the "BET" buttons are active.
SLOTS TERMINOLOGY:
RNG - Random Number Generator, a computer chip placed inside
the slot machine by the manufacturer which randomly selects hundreds
of numbers and symbols every second, faster than you can click
that spin button; working even when the machine is idle. Each
number corresponds to a certain symbol combination that is randomly
chosen after the first credit is played. Fewest programmed combinations
are for the top jackpot. This program computer chip is also designed
to determine that particular slot's average payout %. No slot
machine will pay back its preset payoff percentage rate every
time because the final outcome of every spin is randomly selected.
Reels: number of wheels/reels showing on slot with
symbol combinations imprinted: usually three, but some slots
have five.
Loose/Tight slots-Loose slots will have better payoffs
to a "certified" high of 100%, on average over a period
of time. Therefore, a loose slot has a higher payout level.
Up/Down Slot Cycle: Slot's average payoff percentage
rate applies over the long haul, as long as one year. Therefore
a slot with a 98% payoff percentage rate will sometimes pay off
at 130% and other times at 50%, sometimes at 28% and other times
at 502%.
Slot Types/Versions
Basic, straight or "flat-top" slots have a constant
top jackpot payout that does not change no matter how much the
machine is played.
Multiplier Slots pay for certain symbols on a graduating
scale. On a three reel, you get 5 coins for a "cherry"
playing 1 coin, 10 pay for 2 coins and 15 pay for 3 coins. The
payouts for playing 1 coin are much smaller than if you played
maximum coins. "Onesies" players stop here.
Bonus Multiplier Slots offer larger top jackpots as
incentive to play max coins. The top jackpot symbol, e.g. 7's
will only pay with max coins. This is important for those players
who have lined up winning 7's only to find their single coin
bet did not win.
Double Machines: pays double or triple with winning
combinations of certain symbols lined up.
Progressive Slots: offer growing jackpots dependent
upon amount of monies played through the linked bank/carousel
slots.
Bonus Video Slots: The name Bonus Slots says it all:
an opportunity to go to a 'second chance' bonus round where the
real money is. Multiple paylines with as many as 5 or 9 paylines.
Many versions come in penny denominations; also nickel, quarter
and dollar.
Short Win: large jackpot win after a small cash outlay
- happens often.
Onesies: those slot players who insist on playing
one coin/spin. Suggest that you play only Multiplier Slots or
drop down to nickel slots, play max and stretch your gambling
bankroll.
Hit and Run: If a slot does not pay after 3-5 maximum
coin spins, move on.
