BACCARAT RULES |
|
While baccarat might seem intimidating to those unfamiliar with
the rules, its actually one of the easiest casino games
to play. There is one, and only one decision you have to make
for each hand. The dealer handles the rest, playing out the hands
according to strict, predetermined rules.
Two hands are dealt - The Bankers hand and the
Players hand. Prior to each deal, the player wagers on
whether the Players hand or the Bankers hand is closest
to a total of 9. If the first two cards total 9, the hand is
called a natural and automatically wins. If the first two cards
total 8, its also called a natural and it wins automatically
as well, unless the opposing hand has a natural too. When both
hands have a natural, the higher hand wins (9 beating 8).
The player also has the option to wager on a tie.
If you make this bet and the two hands tie, you win an 8:1 payoff.
Ties, however, occur less than one out of every ten hands. The
program determines outcomes and whether extra cards will be dealt.
How to play
A player can bet on three hands - the Players hand, the
Bankers hand, or a Tie bet. A combination of these bets
can also be made. Place your wagered amount by clicking with
the left mouse button or drag/dropping a coin into the area you
want: the Players field, the Bankers field, the Tie
field, or any combination of these within the betting limits.
Coin amounts are: $1, $5, $25, and $100. Some tables have a minimum
bet of $5. You start the hand by pressing the Deal button.
After the Deal button is pressed, the Player and Banker
are dealt two cards. All tens and picture cards are worth zero,
aces are worth 1, and all other cards are worth their face value.
If the value of cards exceeds 9, then the value is adjusted by
subtracting 10 from the total
in other words, dropping
the zero.
Example:
Cards: |
Hand
Total: |
9 + 7 = 16 |
6 |
5 + 5 + 5 = 15 |
5 |
10 + 9 = 19 |
Natural 9 |
After the first two cards are dealt to both the Player
and Dealer, a third additional card may be dealt automatically,
if required. No hand receives more than three cards.
Third Card Rules:
The system generates a third card if the Players two cards
total five or less. Players hand stands at totals of 6,
7, 8 or 9.
The banker hand is a bit more complicated. How the
banker hand gets played is usually determined by what the player
hand's third card is. If the player did not draw a third card
(i.e. had a 6 or higher), then the banker draws a card only if
its first two cards total less than 5. Otherwise, the banker
stands.
If the player did draw a third card, then the banker
plays as follows:
When the bankers first two cards equal
|
the banker draws only if the players third card is: |
3 |
1,2,3,4,5,6,7,9,10 |
4 |
2,3,4,5,6,7 |
5 |
4,5,6,7 |
6 |
6,7 |
When the bankers first two cards equal
|
the banker will: |
2 or less |
Always draw |
7,8, or 9 |
Always stand |
If the Players hand stands on two cards, then a two-card
Banker hand that totals 3,4,5 must draw and a Banker hand that
totals 6 must stand.
Payoffs
A winning Player hand wager is paid at 1 to 1. A winning Banker
hand wager is also paid at 1 to 1 but the player must pay a 5%
commission to the bank. Winning tie wagers are paid at 8:1.
MULTI-USER BACCARAT
The multi-user baccarat table seats up to five players, the dealer
and multiple observers. The rules of play are the same as for
regular baccarat, above. Bets are $5, $25 and $100. When you
have chosen your seat, your name and balance will appear at that
seat. You are now ready to place your bet. Drag and drop the
appropriate coin to the player (you), the banker (the dealer),
or a tie. When ready, press the deal button. The game does all
the rest for you, based upon the rules above. If you wish to
take a break, click on stand up and you will be moved
to observer status.
If your game has a chat function, you may talk to
other players during the game, whether youre playing or
just observing. Just click on your name and then type your message
in the chat box. Press send.
